“Lovely’s voice combines roadhouse grit with a focused emotional clarity all her own…she’s an unstoppable force blasting out of the Pacific Northwest.” – Frank-John Hadley, DownBeat

KAREN LOVELY offers up a blistering mix of contemporary blues, blues rock, and American roots music. Known for her passionate, driven style, this powerhouse vocalist consistently delivers standout performances, both live and in the studio, garnering awards and critical acclaim throughout the US, Canada, Europe, and South America.

A multi-award winning artist, Lovely has taken home seven Muddy Awards for “Performance of the Year”, “Best Contemporary Blues Band”, “Best Female Artist” and “Best National Recording.” In 2018, she received her 4th prestigious Blues Music Award nomination for “Best Contemporary Blues Female Artist” and her 4th Blues Blast Music Award nomination for “Female Blues Artist of the Year.”

Her albums (including her newest release FISH OUTTA WATER) have topped national and international blues and roots charts, and made the “Best of the Year” blues album lists for noted publications such as Downbeat Magazine, Roots Music Report, Living Blues and Blues Blast. She is a two-time “#1 Pick to Click” artist on XM Radio Bluesville.

A committed social activist, Lovely’s songs address domestic violence, sexual abuse, homelessness, mental health, addiction, and suicide. She donated proceeds from pre-sales of Fish Outta Water  to RAINN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual assault organization, and includes links to domestic violence and sexual assault hotlines in each of her studio album liner notes.

Lovely shot onto the blues scene out of the Pacific Northwest like Stack O’ Lee’s .44 placing 2nd at the 2010 International Blues Challenge, immediately followed by three 2011 Blues Music Award Nominations for her sophomore release STILL THE RAIN.

Her follow up album, TEN MILES OF BAD ROAD, produced by Grammy winner Tony Braunagel, established Lovely as a singer/songwriter with a style uniquely her own, receiving nominations for the prestigious 2016 Blues Music Award for “Best Contemporary Blues Female Artist” and 2016 BluesBlast Award for “Best Female Artist”. The album also won a 2015 Blues411 “Jimi” Award for “Best Contemporary Blues Female Artist” and was selected by Downbeat as one of the “Best Albums of 2016.”
